Which pillar the 沖 sits in determines the area of life it affects.

When 沖 Becomes 吉 (Auspicious)
When your chart has an excess of an unfavorable Element (기신),
沖 breaking it apart → fate opens up.
Example: a chart overloaded with 金
→ 火 (沖) controlling 金 restores balance
→ the suppressed 木 energy comes alive
沖 is not automatically 凶 —
which Elements are clashing is what matters.
Conversely, if 沖 shatters your 용신 (the Element you need), the result is severely 凶.

Standalone 1 — 寅申충 Deep Dive
寅申충 (인신충) is one of the hardest-hitting clashes.
寅 = spring Wood (木), the force of growth
申 = autumn Metal (金), the force that cuts
It's like having an axe inside your chart, aimed at the tree.
This clash brings strong drive,
but also frequent external interference, accidents, and unexpected situations.
High mobility — staying at one job for a long time is structurally difficult.
Standalone 2 — The Relationship Between 沖 and 合
What happens when 合 and 沖 coexist in the same chart?
The rule: 沖 breaks 合, and 合 blocks 沖.
If 子丑합 is present but 午 is also there:
→ 子午충 shatters 子, weakening the 子丑합.
If 子丑합 is strong:
→ 子 is bound, so the impact of 午's 沖 is reduced.
Saju must be read not as single characters
but as a power struggle across the whole structure.
Standalone 3 — The Special Nature of 辰戌충
辰戌충 is a clash between two 土 Branches —
so why is it so powerful?
Both 辰 and 戌 are 묘지 (Grave/Storage) positions within 삼합.
辰 = the grave of the Water 局 (申子辰)
戌 = the grave of the Fire 局 (寅午戌)
When the stored energies in these two graves collide:
→ both Water and Fire energies are stirred up simultaneously.
Sudden upheaval, impulsive behavior, unpredictable events.
